ANNUAL REPORTS & ESG REPORTING
Turning the year into a visual story
Annual reports bring together strategy, results, people and change.
I help organisations turn that complexity into clear, engaging publications, balancing corporate reporting with communication and brand.
Letting ever year tell its own story
What happened this year? What changed? Which results matter most? And what should employees, customers, investors or partners remember when they close the report?
For me, these questionsare intertweend with the expression of the design.
Sometimes the real story isn't in the numbers
For WWF, the annual review was less about financial reporting and more about showing what happened during the year — the projects, the progress and the impact of their work.
The result was a more editorial and expressive publication, using strong photography, varied typography and storytelling to bring the year to life.
Making ESG part of the story
What happened this year? What changed? Which results matter most? And what should employees, customers, investors or partners remember when they close the report?
For me, these questions come before the design.
Remember when annual reports were still printed?
I designed my first annual reports for Gyldendal in 2006 and 2 years later this one. Back then, paper, binding and production were an integral part of the design process. The format has changed dramatically since — but the challenge of turning a year into a coherent story hasn't.
Finding the design language within the brand
The graphic language grew directly out of the company’s identity. Elements from the logo became a flexible design system, combined with maritime imagery, clear information graphics and a structured editorial layout.
